The Shore Pier can host both your ceremony and your reception. Depending on the number of guests attending, two hours will be required to flip the venue in between the ceremony and reception though many of our clients set up the ceremony on the covered deck area and have the indoor area pre-set for the reception.

Yes, the venue is completely accessible by wheelchair, there is a ramp that extends from the public walkway to the front side of the event center, and all aspects of the building are accessible, both washrooms have wheelchair accessible private stalls.

To book your event, 50% of the full rental fee is due at time of booking. The balance of the rental fee is due 90- days before the event date. You will be issued a separate invoice for any extras you have requested. This includes any extra services that you enlist from the venue.

Within 10-days of your event, we require a $1,000 damage deposit and provided there are no damages, you will be provided after the venue cleaning is completed.

Tentative Booked Dates have 48 hours until a deposit is required to continue to hold the date. The booking process is as follows: after your date selection, we ask you to provide the name of the booking person who is responsible as the “Organizer” of the event. In the case of a wedding couple, the full names of both parties are required. The full mailing address of the Organizer including postal code, and the contact number. This information is inserted into the Rental Agreement and forward to you for review and completion. Once we have received the completed RA, you are then able to forward your deposit and the booking process is completed. Deposits are accepted via e-Transfer, cheque, or money orders. We do not accept credit cards.

Yes, The Shore Pier requires that all clients provide the venue with a public liability insurance and property damage insurance policy. The terms are outlined in the Rental Agreement.

The venue requires that all liquor be purchased through a Special Occasion License available through LCB or through a catering professionals liquor license. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. No homemade alcohol including beer or wine is allowed on the facilities.

The Shore Pier has a list of caterers for resources only. These companies have built a relationship with the SHORE PIER and each are familiar with our venue and policies. We do allow other caterers that are not on the list if this is the clients interest. All catering companies much be registered with the SHORE PIER and are required to pay a Landmark Fee for the use of the catering area and equipment.

There is not specific signage for the SHORE PIER at the top of the driveway. The venue sits on the waterfront afront of The SHORE condominiums that are located at 368 Main Street, Tofino. The SHORE PIER is located at 380 Main Street and access to the venue is along the east side of the SHORE development. Please refer to the Google map to locate The Shore Pier.

No, The Shore Pier does not have designated parking, however, the Event Manager can provide you with details on how to manage parking for your guests. We recommend planning transportation services with the local transportation contractors so that congestion at the venue can be reduced and that your flow of guests is managed. Transportation providers are listed in our resources section.

Yes, we can provide you many options if we understand what the specifics are of what you are looking for, we do this at your request. Please review our “Resources” section to review those that are registered with us.

Yes, all clients must have an event “Organizer”, a person who is in the role of ensuring all policies are followed as well as Provincial laws for liquor and food services, and bylaws of the District of Tofino. If your event is a wedding, the role of “Organizer” can and be delegated to a Wedding Planner, or a Day-of-Wedding Coordinator. The venue can provide a Day-of Coordinator Service for an additional fee, if this is of interest, please request these services of our management.

Your event rental starts the morning of at 9:00 a.m. and runs for a 24-hour period through the following morning. Deliveries and pick-ups must be done within this time period. All delivery and pick up times outside of this must be approved by the management and will be based on booking availability. Otherwise you will have a 24hr. time period beginning at 9 a.m.

Candles are allowed as long as they are in an enclosed holder or votive – no open flames or tapered candles are allowed. Confetti, glitter, flower petals, and rice are not allowed.

Tape, nails, tacks; staples may not be used to post things on the walls. Everything must be freestanding or affixed to the wooden members that make up the ceiling structure of the indoor area.

Large furniture or stages being brought in must have felt or soft bottoms to prevent scratches on the floor.

Yes, DJ’s or live bands are allowed and encouraged. They must provide their own AV system. Tofino has a noise By-law and any infractions of the noise bylaw are to the clients liability and to their account. A SLOCAN/Re:SOUND licensing fee is required and is added to your invoice. The charges can be found in the Rental Agreement.

The Shore Pier is a non-smoking facility. This includes vaporizers and e-cigarettes. If you require a designated smoking-area, please contact the management and an area can be set up in the outdoor covered area.

The venue has a “zero tolerance” policy towards the use and possession of illegal drugs on the premises.

Telus has customer Wifi available throughout the event facility. If you have specific questions, please raise these with our management.

Although the venue is located on the marina, it does not include moorage. The marina is managed by a 3rd-party provider and arrangements can be made for moorage through them. If you are looking to have moorage, please bring this request to our management and they can see what can be made available for you. There is an area within the marina that has access for drop-off and pick-up for water transportation only.

For seaplane or helicopter access, please discuss the options available with our management.

The SHORE PIER is a municipally licensed venue through the District of Tofino and thereby follows all of the health and safety protocols within the Province of BC. For employees working on site, employers must follow the WorkSafeBC guidelines.
